The Little Joe booster was the first rocket designed solely for manned spacecraft qualifications and to measure critical parameters at higher altitudes. The Estes 1/34th scale Little Joe stands almost 18 inches tall and launches to 400 feet on a C6-5 engine. Other features include a plastic Mercury capsule and engine nozzles, precision laser cut balsa and printed card-stock fins, high quality waterslide decals and a colorful 15 inch parachute for “safe reentry.”
WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, plastic cement, sanding block, hobby knife, masking tape, primer (white), paint (bright orange, dark gray, red, silver) and clear coat (optional). (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included.)
WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).
